Any forum, or any group would be fortunate to have you as a leader!
But in all seriousness, I think you're well aware of my difficulties with the UPC. But I would base those difficulties on scriptural principles and not by casting a disparaging cloud of doubt on the leaders as individuals and their personal integrity. I don't think that's fair. There's hardly anything I would with the UPC about. We both believe there's a God. After that, I don't know! I believe UPC leaders and pastors are sincerely wrong, but I believe they're sincere (for the most part). Don't turn then, as a whole, into thieves by saying, "I know a bunch". I felt like the tone of that statement made the UPC sound as if it's full of thieves, and to me, that's not fair.
And I still can't believe I'm defending the UPC!

the point?
I know many a colleague who stays in the best hotel room they can afford, drives the best they can afford, and has the best house they can afford.....I do it, and so do you (probably)
The difference between Pastor Benny's spending and mine/yours is many zeros at the end of the price tag
***disclaimer*** I don't agree with BG theology BUT I do 100% believe in the power of faith. The man knows how to create an atmosphere of faith where people believe they're going to get healed. The man takes LESS time to pick up an offering than in any service at General Conference. They spend two or three hours singing and worshipping....when faith is at it's peak, the healings start.
AGAIN....JUST BECAUSE I SAID THAT DOESN'T MEAN I AGREE WITH BH ON EVERYTHING ELSE.
|
Where do we get it that a man has the gift to "create an atmosphere?"
Further, at what point should our ministers stop "climbing the ladder of success" with the servanthood called ministry, and quit adding zeros? We pay for "success" - great. We've mutilated, perverted and distorted the mission of God into a capitalistic, materialistic smorgasbord of lies.
Keep your disclaimers. They aren't needed.

Just be careful judging this man lest the same judgment come on you!
Who knows what any of us would live in or drive or fly in if we ran a multi-million $$$ company or ministry!
I have been on some of those private jets and to tell you the truth - it is a whole lot better, easier & faster getting to where you are going than commercial and you don't have to deal with lines and TSA strip searching you and stealing from you!

The god of this world is the idol those humbly-clothed ministry also bow down to. Yeah, and owning 10 Lambourghini's is more efficient, having 3 mansions helps you minister more effectively. Yeah, I get it.

Third: I'm saddened by his divorce, and I'm saddened for him. No one should have to go through this, not even a complete fraud like him.
Fourth: I've always viewed Benny Hinn, and a long list of other TBN shysters, as a really bad cartoon that won't go away. The only difference between Benny Hinn and Bugs Bunny is, Bugs Bunny doesn't ask people for all their money. One is pretending to be a preacher that can heal, the other is pretending to be a rabbit that can talk.

As far as some of them are concerned, AB was ordained Bishop by someone who is not even in the Body of Christ so that is not valid and the fellowship card (if he has one) in his wallet does not have the right letters on it so AB is not part of THE CHURCH either. They would first not accept him as an equal and brother in THE CHURCH, and secondly they would protect one of their own against an outsider.

Oh get off "the church" soap box a moment. I wasn't referring to UPCI, or any denomination. I'm saying, handle these people you "know" without publishing a memoir at Barnes & Noble so you can own a private jet too. Handle it as a people of God.

Because he's making irresponsible, blanket accusations that he can't back up with fact. If he could, he would, pure and simple.

This is blatantly untrue and those that know me - know how untrue it is. It is how you wanted it to be because of your upbringing and your baggage. I (as well as many on here) know people in most every movement that are not a credit to their org but a hindrance. I never mentioned the UPC, A/G, COG or any other org I have been a part of. I am sure your father would be so very proud of you to defend the crooks, liars, thieves and deceivers in the organization that he serves in. I am sure he could name a few too!
Again, I have no clue who you or he is and don't care to know. I do know it is the dog that got hit that yelps the most! Tender there?
There are good men in every org. I continue to preach for some men and churches affiliated with the UPC, A/G, COG and many other orgs.
When I find one to be untruthful and a thief (and yes, I have been robbed by a few in all) I just pack up my giant book, CD, tape and product table, have my body guards (all packing Glock 22's of course) take the offerings straight from the baskets to the Brink's bags and pack them in the trunk of the Limo and off we go to my MIRACLE MONEY Lear Jet and we are outta there to spend a week on the French Riviera!
My grandson is enjoying watching the cartoons on TBN this morning and I am thankful that he is not watching PBS but has something positive with the scriptures in it to watch. What you watch on TBN (I only watch when I am on it) is only the tip of the iceberg of what they do around the world. I do not defend their doctrine or lifestyles - but I am thankful that they are helping people around the world know about Jesus Christ.
Hey TroubleMaker - that should give you something to do today! LOL
I am off to minister in two jails and to pray for a few sick folks at home.
Have a great Lord's Day & remember to pray for the Hinn Family and for Tiger Woods and his family.
