Also you gotta love the character dynamics, humor and interpersonal relations of SC1...this new SGW is like a Day time soap on a space ship...boooooriiinngggggg
Star Trek worked because it was not always just them confined to a ship and time for funny stuff :-)

I find the story among the people themselves much more interesting -and realistic then the "alien of the week" drama found on a typical Star Trek episode (one reason I think DS9 was the best of the Trek series -it had the strongest continuing story line). A few of the SGU characters ARE annoying but many also strike me as "everyday people" who are thrown into a situation that no one could prepare for, unlike Voyager were Janeway was a super hero who was wiser then Yoda and NEVER made a wrong decision. Also Voyager suffered from the "Gilligan" syndrome where they would come close to finding a way home and at the last moment "Gilligan" would drop the coconut on the radio and ruin their chances for rescue leaving us with another scene of the ship flying away the same we we saw the castaways sitting at the edge of the lagoon at the end of every episode.
