So we have a choice to make, look Apostolic or act Apostolic and turn our city upside down. Going back out tonight and hope the number will be over 200 by Friday.

Arkansas?? Hm. I dun remember where that happened, other than it was in one of the hick states.
The wife sat on the altar. The pastor pulled out a set of shiney new scissors. He raised them to the air and the scissors sparkled... Then "chop". The hair fell to the floor. And the wife got up and screamed "I'm free... I'm free"
I don't know what or how it really went down. That is the version that I am familiar with.

I was speaking of the revival not the "hair cutting party."

Re: My church lost its Apostolic Identity
Well done Harley. It is an interesting thought behind whether to 'look' Apostolic/Pentecostal or actually being Apostolic/Pentecostal. Food for thought.

Re: My church lost its Apostolic Identity
It has been said that the saving of a soul is the miracle of the moment,
but the making of a saint is the work of a lifetime.
It's not man that makes the saint, but the Holy Ghost that does the work.
It's the love of Christ shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.
Jesus on the inside, working on the outside.
Although I was raised in the church, I didn't receive the Holy Ghost until I
was 18 yrs. old. Got just enough taste of the world to know I would never
be happy out there! A newborn must receive milk and a new born again must
desire the sincere milk of the Word that they might grow thereby.
So thankful for God's goodness and mercy to me! I was lost but now I'm found,
Was blind but now I see! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for your Amazing Grace that
saved a lost sinner like me!!
Blessings,
Falla39
