Most people don't believe that Paul meant simply sitting to eat a meal, he was talking about church fellowship. Otherwise, it'd be really hard to eat in a restaurant. I could certainly never attend another family reunion. As has been said a gazillion times, this wasn't a fellowship meeting, it was a college reunion.

I think all of this controversy being brought up on this particular thread is in extremely bad taste. It was a thread celebrating a reunion and a conference. In this case, the old adage 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' would have been good to follow.

There is a big difference in South Chicago class of '69 High School reunion & a genuine Apostolic Bible School Reunion.

FTR, there was a person in attendance there who knows better & is involved in abominations & yet still feels like he is a brother, and that doesn't cause you any concern?
I know personally of a former good friend who backslid and left the Church for what I thought was a women (he is married) wrong!
There he is on facebook married to another man!!

I don't know what bothers me more, that the person was at the event, or that people have no problem with it?

Something is out of kilter.

No, what offends her is that you think that dressing like a Baptist automatically means she has left 'the truth', and you feel the need to bring that up. There are a lot (tons) of threads on this site where dress standards and their necessity (or lack of necessity) are discussed. This wasn't the thread for it.

There was some truth in what St. Mark said... People who believe in Seperation here aren't welcome... their views aren't acceptable and if they make their opinions known... Well that's just hate speech...

This is not true. A wide range of opinions is welcome here. Just because people strongly disagree with your opinion, and say so, doesn't mean you are being restricted. Everyone disagrees with everyone here.

Conservatives get grief, yes. So do liberals.

I agree, dialog is great. That's why no one is trying to get you to leave. It's been said several times that we wish more conservatives would come back. It livens things up, and balances the board better.

I wouldn't fellowship with him in church, in a position of authority (if I knew for positive that it was true). But, at a reunion.... you want to prohibit him from coming? It's a college reunion. A place where people with a past history get together and visit.

Attending a reunion is not a statement that 'I approve of your lifestyle and choices'. It's simply a place to chat, catch up, and remember the old days. There is a different set of rules for reunions and church fellowship.

No is longer is there any lines of difference... We are all Brothers & Sisters in Christ....Doctrine Doesn't Matter....Biblical Standards don't matter... even sexual oreintation doesn't seem to matter.... what's Next...

There have been many conservative folks that have left AFF..

Randy, here's my heart.....I rarely like to expose it too much here. I was not offended. I have been what I have been for over twenty-five years. I love my heritage (UPC) - I attend UPC functions, churches have many UPC in my family.

The difference in those around me is we have a mutal respect for each other. I DO NOT say they are wrong for being conservative, I respect that. I've never told you that you're stupid for being conservative. That would be judgmental of me and putting myself in a place to be harshly judge by someone much bigger than you.

So, when someone comes from the "you are a bunch of Baptist" it frustrates me. Doesn't offend me. Frustrates me because IF we all believe God is who he is and we are filled with his Spirit how can we be so disrespectful? If you are truly concerned for those that are not following the path like you, it seems you could show compassion and concern - not misguided humor.

I just went to open Sam's picture - I could delete it, but we let everyone say what they want as we have let you. That picture has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

But, on that point, if we posted pictures of the AMC attendees and said things like all I see is a bunch of whatever ( I do not even want to pretend to say something because it's not in my heart to do so), but the point I'm trying to make is no one is making fun of them because they dress as they do. It's what they believe is right.

Coming from the reunion where we had all walks there, saved, unsaved, UPC, not, and all those in between and feel the mutal respect that was there, then come here to be reminded that nothing has changed is what hurts me.
