I know that some have been hurt by the UPC by some form or fashion, but the indignation that is felt from this thread from a few posters is unbelievable.....

We actually ate there this past weekend and all ordered a hot fudge cake! It had been YEARS since I had eaten at Shoney's! We did it for old times sake!

I think using the word HATE is a little strong. I've read every post on this thread and there's no one hating.

And....just for the record Randy is the first to use the word and it was used incorrectly.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm not bitter toward UPC or hate UPC - I love my heritage. I don't believe this thread has anything to do with UPC.

Take a step back and try to realize how Randy's slurs about the event being a Baptist or Nazerene event would make anyone feel. He wasn't kidding at first - it's how he felt. There were a thousand better ways he could have said what he felt that wouldn't been as offensive.

The responses back to Randy haven't been directed at his walk with God, but his attitude.

It is funny to watch how people are (on both sides) when all we are all doing is expressing our opinions. We can't all be right on this subject, but we can leave out the word hate.

I believe that is what is so great about the reunion - - so many diverse beliefs, yet we all respect one another. Guess you just had to be there to feel it.

This is the key and why so many respond with frustration to those that can't.

"I have learned to live and worship around those that continue to have their convictions and standards without looking down upon them"

Since God is the final judge - passing judgment on others is just fruitless.

Matter of fact, there have been several churches that I've attended that I've known someone on the platform that your scripture would apply to. However, because of who they are or who they know it's brushed under the rug.

Renda...admit you were offended at my humor because it really hit to close to home and yes I'm talking about the outward appearance...

Comparing folks to Baptist, Nazarene... was just a little offensive because outwardly it's true..

There is no difference between that of a Woman who now wears make-up, pants, short hair, Earrings, Necklaces, and so on or any denominal woman of the Charismatic World...

I might have made the comment in humor but there is a reason you took it seriously because it offended you personally as it did others...

The facts are the facts...

There was some truth in what St. Mark said... People who believe in Seperation here aren't welcome... their views aren't acceptable and if they make their opinions known... Well that's just hate speech... Makes me want to listen to Rush Limbaugh today... I even got called a Retard on another venue because it was offensive... but that's okay...

This digs into the flesh... and the flesh is at enmity against God...

I'm glad you folks had a great time... I wouldn't have attended because of who was there and celebrated but that's not my business...

and on another point...Sam posted a Picture of Seymour and the Azuza Street Pentecostals making a slur against AMC I surely didn't see you take him to task for making fun of Conservatives???

The problem mentioned wasn't fornicators, it was that they 'looked like Baptists or Nazarenes'. And do you seriously believe that no conservative gathering is going to have a fornicator or two in the midst? I've been rather shocked by some of the fornication that has popped up in my own church.

Most people don't believe that Paul meant simply sitting to eat a meal, he was talking about church fellowship. Otherwise, it'd be really hard to eat in a restaurant. I could certainly never attend another family reunion. As has been said a gazillion times, this wasn't a fellowship meeting, it was a college reunion.

Your probably right.. but that would be boring...

All the abuse the Conservative Oneness folks get around here... it makes for a great conversation... and by the way... communication is good... even diverse communication... it's a great way to grow...
