I interpret it to mean natural looking makeup that isn't out of line with skin color or natural coloring. e.g., nothing blue, silver, fire engine red, etc., and not caked on to the point that all you can see is the makeup.

Caked on:

Not natural looking:

Natural looking makeup:

What Scripture passages differentiate between visible and invisible makeup or distinguishe which forms are visible and which are invisible?

What does that have to do with the price of gold in China?

The "condescending coffee cup" Missy B?

Though I do share your ironic approach to Sam's plea for "Scripture."

"Bible? What Bible? Why do we need a Bible to serve as a guideline for anything?"

Oh, hush! I like the coffee cup! Who knows? Maybe I enjoy condescension!!

Platform standards/guidelines are an attempt to maintain public uniformity. I don't care for them, personally, for various and sundry reasons. The reason this particular little guideline is sure to cause a firestorm is because it leaves some room for interpretation by individuals. Leeway is a sin in and of itself, you know.
