Now to be serious:
Were we to turn such an investigation over to the ignorantly-enhanced said individual would probably profile and investigate a group who has never been involved in any activity of this kind anywhere. THAT is what struck me as funny from the beginning.

My fun point was simply that "turbans" are worn and "turbines" spin really fast... but we've all figured that out.
Also, the Pashtun, Hazara and many other ethnic groups - including the Sikh - commonly wear turbans today. In the past the custom was even more widespread. There are obvious advantages for those in South and Central Asia especially nomads or warriors on horseback.
The investigation is bearing fruit now as a naturalized American from Pakistan has been identified as the one who placed the SUV into position in New York.
My own surmising earlier that this was probably NOT the work of "militia" or "red neck" types involved the following facts:
1) The bomb's detonators fizzed and burned failing to explode just like the two bombs and the car bomb that were deployed by Pakistani "doctors" in Scotland a couple of years ago and just like the "shoe bomber" and the "underwear bomber" had done (see the earlier links to the accounts of the Scotland bomb/fires).
Apparently the same "manual" was used or the techniques were similar for some reason.
2) The apparent target was the headquarters of Viacom - the owners of Comedy Central and the South Park "cartoon" show which was said (
incorrectly) to have shown cartoon images of "the Prophet Muhammad" last week and stirring up a great deal of controversy and publicity.
3) At the same time the car "bomb" was placed outside Viacom Headquarters at 1515 Broadway in Times Square, there was a large and well publicized "Pro Illegal Immigration" rally going on 2.2 miles straight down Broadway at Union Square.
Who would be motivated to pass by the "Pro Illegal Immigration" rally and park their car bomb outside Comedy Central's corporate headquarters? A crazed "red neck?" Not likely.
