We used to visit a nursing home in the Cincinnati area and pray for a man. Over the period of several months we saw a wound in his back close up, we saw healing for his bowels, we saw an infection leave, and we saw him walk again. During that time he had to go back to the hospital for some surgery an then returned to the nursing home. All this took a period of time and we would go there weekly. These folks did not go to our church but had heard of us somehow. His wife was so thrilled at the way his healing was going that after we had made our first visit, she asked us if we could pray for some more patients there and we agreed. So, each week after we prayed for her husband she would take us through the halls and ask people, "The prayer team is here. Would you like for them to pray for you?" We would pray for 12 to 20 people each visit. We have also prayed for nurses there. One patient was Roman Catholic and she would always let us pray for her. She had a couple of little throwaway rosaries on a cabinet next to her chair. One day I picked one up and handed another one to her and said, "Let's pray a couple of prayers using this." She agreed. We started with the cross and prayed the Apostles' Creed. Then the "Our Father" (Lord's Prayer or Pater Noster) for the large bead and a "Glory Be" and then a short healing prayer. The only difference was that when we prayed the "Glory Be" I added "in Jesus' Name" to it. I did not pray any "Hail Mary" but if she had wanted to continue, I could have done it and felt OK with it.

I wouldn't have a problem making the sign of the cross. When I do it I go from right to left like the Orthodox instead of left to right like the Romans and I add "In Jesus' Name"
