OK. Now, if I myself do not love God, I will die as a result of that, correct? It's a sin not to love God. The wages of sin is death. I will not have eternal life! Correct? So, whether or not God throws some kind of spiritual switch to make it happen, He has set things up so that I will reap the rewards of the unrepentant sin.

Oh, and since God has killed people before (condemned and judged and killed babies, children, adults, etc.), it is not unreasonable to think that He will again kill the rest of us (the ones who deserve to be killed, I mean), is it?

Of course, the thread title and the poll question aren't the same. Sorry about that. The title asks whether God demands our love. That answer, of course, is yes. Nobody here (other than a few renegades ) would say otherwise. The poll question is about the penalty for disobeying the command to love God. I didn't think that would be as controversial as it has turned out (but I should have known better! ). Disobeying this command, same as any other, is sin, and the penalty of sin is death. I guess some don't think God will do the killing, so they voted False.
