Like Elder E, I have not done a systematic read through in a few years, but have done so many times.
Re the subject of reading, it has always been my joy. I have told my nieces and nephews many times that if they can learn to read, the whole world is opened up to them.
I think it is so important to teach children, not only the joy of reading, but teach them the books of the Bible and how to find them.
This was instilled in me in Sunday School when I was a young'un and it has always stood me in good stead.
One more thing...I have a nephew with Asperger's and he was having a hard time reading. I bought my boy a Bible with his name on the front and he began taking it to church.
His mom said he would sit with his Bible opened and try to read. Well, one day last summer I was over to their house and Ethan read
Genesis 1:1 to me.
He is now reading very well...not where he should be for a child his age, but reading nonetheless and loving it.
I am convinced it was the prayers, coupled with family support
and the Bible...to God be the glory!!
