So what's better, an out-of-the-closet homosexual sinner or a discreet, in-the-closet secret sinner?
There's no "better." It's a sad place to be, either way. However, if someone is going to be flamboyantly effeminate, (e.g., "flaming") denying that they're gay seems to be a moot point.

It's one of those things that depends on who it's coming from and in that sense very similar to the word used within the black culture. They use it on each other, but not from us to them. Some hate that and granted, it can appear inconsistent, but for me, I figure it's their right to see how they like. After 200+ years of being treated as inferiors, they've earned the right ....from my perspective anyway.
I do find it inconsistent.
However, if they don't like being referred to as "queer," then I would not call them that either.
Wasn't there a popular show called "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?"

interesting that all your stereotypes refer to men.

Most of the homosexuals I'm familiar with are men. However, my worst personal experience was with a gay woman, so don't assume I'm clueless.

Accepted and thank you. You can delete it yourself. The "edit" button stays up for a good while. I'm sure it's still there for you.
Are you an admin now? Standards doesn't need to delete anything. It's a comment that's been made quite a few times before by different people in the midst of these kinds of conversations.
You really need to quit trying to sanitize conversations.

And therein lies the inconsistency. I think the Q-word is now often associated with the foaming-at-the-mouth-protestor-Kansas-preacher-psycho-dude-types who spew their hate-venom at the gay community. From what I've been told by gay people, if it's the Q-word said in jest, you get a free pass. If it's used in anger...lights out.

Mind your own business. "Standards" said he asked Admin to delete...that's his right and also none of your business...and I told him how he could without Admin getting involved. So just to reiterate....mind your own business.
