I'm in agreement that the word "queer" isn't a good word to use, I don't use it, and our kids don't use it.
I just don't think it's so offensive as to require deletion (or an apology), but that's the finer point. Standards quickly apologized, and that goes to illustrate his good attitude. I think it's odd that you can't seem to have a decent conversation without trying to manipulate all the posts to reflect your delicate sensibilities. I retracted my statement, but I still can't stand people who participate in that sin. God never intended for two men to be together. The Bible condemns it, so I have a right to condemn it as well.
They have an addiction to sin. They need help. How are they going to get it if they are pushed away by the church? We certainly need to let gay people know that God’s word says He does not approve of their lifestyle, but at the same time we need to let them know that we love them with the love of Jesus and we want to do everything possible to help them receive deliverance which comes through the Lord Jesus Christ
Most people in society look upon homosexuals with disdain and disgust. It is important that we do not do that. We have to show them love and let them see that we do care about them and we want to help them.
No. I do believe that Romans 2 categorizes this as one of the worst sins. It's against nature and it's mocking God's design.
I don't believe that there are big and little sins from God's perspective. There are sins that have worse immediate and/or natural consequences in this life, but in the longterm, all sin has the same result: death.
Whether you can "stand" people who are flamboyantly gay or not, you still have a biblical mandate to love others as you love yourself. I'm sure that would include being kind, polite and compassionate to homosexuals. Of course, that doesn't mean you have to hire a gay babysitter to watch your kids on the weekends or hire a thief to make your bank deposits.
