So the Holy Spirit doesn't make one "better off"? Doesn't it put you in any kind of better position than those who are NOT filled with the Holy Spirit? What's the point if the Holy Spirit doesn't help you?
Wow. This is real simple. Mizpeh (and many others) believe strongly that tongues is the initial evidence of spirit infilling based on their understanding of scripture. Thus, by default, those without the evidence do not have the infilling of the Spirit. It's not an insult, it's not arrogance. It is applying what they believe to be true. I don't necessarily agree, but mizpeh has every right to this belief without it being considered arrogant.

Thank you, Derrick!
I also believe this gift with the accompanying sign is for every believer whether they are Methodist, Lutheran, or whatever. The only requirements are faith in Christ and repentance. God's Spirit is in every place to lead and guide believers into all truth.

The question is off-topic and doesnt merit answering. And to answer the previous question which you directed at me; You, with your thread hijacking, witness badgering, and excessively critical tone (hypo-critical, maybe?) jerked my chain. What happened to the Love of Christ, the unity of believers, and peace with all men? You want to dicuss the merits of the "tongues=salvation" doctrine? There is already a thread for that. This thread is for identifying churches which meet previously specified criteria. This is not a place to debate the merits of said criteria.

What would you like to be called? "Better than everyone else"?
You say those of us who believe tongues are the initial evidence of Spirit Baptism are wrong, arrogant, and proud? Does this make you right, meek, and humble? Has your behavior on this thread demonstrated that? What would you like to be called? "Better than no-one...except those tongue talkers"?

No, it is not off-topic, but whether it is or not is really none of your concern. Are you the topic-nazi around here or what? If I want to post something I will. If you want to, have at it. Ok?
Now that have that out of the way, yes, I say that if YOU believe that because you have spoken in tongues that YOU are filled with the Holy Spirit while those who have NOT spoken, are NOT filled with the Holy Spirit, then you are expressing spiritual superiority over another. What are we going to have next, someone who has the gift of faith showing up and saying they're looking for a "Faith-filled" church? "Hello, I'm Bob and I'm going to Robertville next week and I'm looking for a leadership-filled church (Romans 12 mentions the gift of leadership). "Hey there, I'm filled with the Spirit because I have leadership and you don't."
Interestingly, I've never heard someone who has the gift of faith, or miracles, or discernment, kindness, or hospitality, claim that only those who have those gifts are filled with the Spirit. Why is it the tongue-talkers have elevated themselves above everyone else?

Could be because that is what the culture around us has taught us. Just a guess.
