It's from "Signs". Water makes its skin sizzle and blister, and enough water (like, say, submerging!) would kill it. But then, it's so nasty, it doesn't deserve to be saved anyway.
I know I saw signs several times. I just noticed it looks kinda like Gollum on steroids
