I feel that we are stronger for repentance, baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and baptism in the Holy Spirit with the speaking in other tongues than many of our brethren. For more than 30 years I have stood firmly for these truths without a compromise.

My understanding of the word of God is that a person will have to have these experiences to be a New Testament Christian and to take part in the rapture of the saints and of course we will have to live a life of holiness, purity and victory to be ready for His coming. I have not and do not teach that a person will go to hell if he has not been baptized in the Holy Spirit as that depends upon the light that he has from God. If a person has light on baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, baptism in the Holy Spirit with speaking in other tongues according to Acts 2:4 and Acts 2:38 and rejects the truth and will not walk in the light that the Lord shows him, then I fear that the light in him will become darkness and if he does not repent his soul will be lost.

As to the one true God, there is no doubt in my mind but that Jesus our Lord is the only true God for IN him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead (deity) bodily, Colossians 2:9. My methods of presenting the truth may be different than some but it has produced results over a period of years, for many people and churches have come into this wonderful message through my ministry and we humbly thank God for it. There is no intention on my part to compromise with sin and the truths of God’s word. I thank God for all of His truth and by the grace of God will walk in the light as He reveals it to me.

I have a question about the light doctrine, if someone is judged on what they know, aren't we doing a disservice by preaching Acts 2:38? If the light doctrine is true, we should stop preaching Acts 2:38, so everyone can be judged on what they "don't know" and be saved?

Maybe that's when they decided to "change" a few things.

Re: Goss speaking @ UPCI conference

Ken Gurley, The South Texas District Supt. and a pastor here in Pearland writes a religious blog for the Houston Chronicle ... and s also featured in a Houston Chronicle article promoting this drama WHICH HE WROTE AND DIRECTED .... here:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/7215225.html

Another Gurley mistruth ... Seymour received the Holy Ghost in Houston.

Quote:
Take the story of William Seymour, the son of emancipated slaves, who moved to Houston in 1905 in search of family members.

After receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, he went on to lead the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles, a movement credited for the worldwide recognition of Pentecostalism, Gurley said.
Seymour received the baptism of the HG in 1906 ... apparently in Los Angeles.

Re: Goss speaking @ UPCI conference

In the 1950's Clyde Haney had Bro. Goss come and speak at WABC several times. In 1957 Bro. Goss openly said from the chapel pulpit that he was definitely saved prior to baptism in Jesus' name or Spirit baptism.

Once during a class on Pentecostal Doctrine, where he was an invited guest speaker, Bro. Goss was asked specifically about his view on the new birth. He was not hesitant in affirming that all "Trinitarian brothers were in the body of Christ and they would all go up together." He explained his view by saying that both Oneness and Trinitarian believers had been baptized into one body. He openly asserted that baptism was "because of" the remission of sins and therefore a post-salvation matter.

These two incidents are recorded on pages 175 and 176 of the infamous Fudge book.

Well, I think it boils down to either one of these:

1: The UPCi does not preach/believe what it used to and is trying to "rewrite" history.

or

2: Goss' hermeneutics were wrong.

I haven't seen the play but was wondering, did Sis. Goss have on her pearls? Or was that Sis. Morgan with the pearls that were airbrushed from the photo?

Sis. Goss spoke of wearing pearls in her "Winds" book. Also, Clyde Haney's wife had pearls on in an old picture.
