They say UPC spurred on by rivals from houston, if I heard it right, but wasn't it formed from 2 orgs with race issues being one of the major reasons??

To be honest Im not sure what you are saying but here is what I understand
Parham seemed to have racist tendencies but it was also pretty much common then. It should be noted that his school was not exclusively for whites. Instead he treated blacks poorly as they were all treated during that time.
The PAW and some white orgs did combine for a short period of time and from what I understand race did have to do with their separation. You'll hear different stories but from the "white" side I heard one reason was they had a hard time reaching unsaved souls who would never set foot inside a black church/bi racial church/church that was associated with blacks.
I don't know of anything concerning the two groups that formed the UPC having race issues as a reason
