True, but it could be sin to an individual if they oppose it, but you are right God

There are scrubbers on the vents to cut the smell.

And they still have to crush and pulverize the larger bones.

Thad, based on what are you so set against cremation? Help me to understand this, brother. My father took the same stand, but could never explain to me why he was adamant about it. Thanks!

Sounds like good sound doctrine to me.

Revrandy,

Excellent timing on this thread. It was almost uncanny as yesterday I almost started one with the same topic.

My wife desires to be cremated rather than buried. She does not even want a casket & body viewing at the funeral or before.

This has bothered me greatly for the following reasons

1. I am old enough that it is ingrained in me that Christians traditionally are
buried and pagans / heatherns burned their dead. (I realize there is no
Bible for this ingrained thinking, only tradition, as Old Paths and some
others have pointed out with scripture that refers to ASHES as well as
DUST.

2. I think that viewing the body and the body at a funeral helps the family
say goodbye.

3. If my wife is cremated I will not have her buried beside me and when
people see my grave and tombstone it is going to look like I died a
single, lonely man! I always pictured the dual headstone.

I know that I will abide by my wife's wishes no matter how uncomfortable I am with her choices but I appreciate the comments on here that have helped me believe there is nothing wrong with what she wants.

It's just wierd to me.... I mean why not just dissolve the body in a vat of acid?? Just bury the body in the ground and let the earth do it's thing as God intended.
