How did you celebrate halloween?

I took my son trick or treating. Also took along a lady friend with her daughter. My son dressed up as Spiderman, her daughter a princess. It was a nice time. The kids, both four years old, became afraid at some places. Taught them to face their fear and just whisper the name of Jesus if it became too scarying. Also taught them to look at scary things and say, "You're not real!" lol

Lady friend went wearing a black cat costume, mask, ornate wrist bands, and tail. I wore a ghoul costume pictured below (the glowing eyes faded in and out lol):

In my opinion Halloween is a time to reflect on the origin and nature of evil. To teach our families about such realities. The "celebration" of Halloween is primarily cultural in my opinion. I'm Irish... I value some of our traditions for cultural reasons. This was the first time I actually dressed up in over ten years. Had a blast walking down the street saying, "We're coming for our souls!" People would make a double take. I did what I could to make people think about eternity if not for a few minutes. lol

We started dipping into the candy the day we bought it! (No kids at our door. We're in "the country", sorta. )

I try not to buy it--too much temptation! (and too many pounds) If I get any, I at least wait til the day AFTER Halloween. But this morning's downfall was that others in the office brought their leftover candy in... they didn't want to leave it at the house where they would eat it, so they made sure to bring it to a place where they knew it would quickly disappear!

Didn't hand out candy this year. Had a busy week and it seemed like too much effort.
