Personally I think everything should be free...it would be nice. But ultimately things cost money.
So if you give away an education for free to someone, it's still not really free. States, cities or even Countries have to pay for it somehow and that somehow is taxes and fees on other stuff.

I'm aware of that. And that's fine. If people don't have to pay $500/month in loan payments because they went to college, then maybe they can pay an extra $50 toward free education. They still come out ahead.
This idea that we shouldn't have to pay taxes puzzles me...where do we think the money to run the country is going to come from, exactly? The point is, to use it wisely and minimize waste. I fail to see how educating the majority of the population is wasting money.
