I always thought it was funny that a group of men decided to form a new organization,
thought it was OK to misuse the UPC mailing list,
invited everyone (including lay ministers) to it's meeting,
scheduled their meeting on top of an official District function,
knew that they had done it and still didn't change the date,
used the same hotel as where the District meeting was taking place...
AND if I or anyone else says something against this group we are labeled ''bitter'' or are told we're wrong for questioning motives, after all "affiliation doesn't matter"
We're called unethical for criticizing...all the while "the defenders" don't see the lack of ethics on the other side....
Anyone that speaks out against that group is labeled as not being understanding to those dear brothers convictions...blah blah blah........now i'm just rambling.
What is with all the posts accusing others of UPC bashing or preacher bashing on AFF??
This is getting ridiculous!
Just because I may have formed an opinion about something or someone, doesn't mean that it is bashing! Good grief!
Let's be fair about what we call bashing!
Are opinions about Mark Hanby or other rouge liberal ex-UPC preachers considered bashing?
Can't I express the same type of opinion on rouge ultra-con preachers that are now ex-UPC. Is it just bashing if the opinion is about a conservative preachers?
Could we dispense with the whining about bashing?????

To be fair... the posts you are referring to, that I would call UPC bashing... were post made entirely on speculation and inference... there were no facts involved.. because the church chose to use an AG church it was assumed that the UPC churches didn't care enough, didn't offer theirs etc.
So pardon me for standing up for facts or the lack thereof... (no... dont't really pardon me I am being completely sarcastic)

I was only on the forum a few minutes last night and read the accusations about bashing. I have to admit I was puzzled and gave it some thought last night. I did not consider the discussion bashing. There was some sarcasm used and some opinions stated, but I was not offended by it or consider it bashing. I just wonder when the ministry does the same thing in private or on their forum is it considered bashing?

I participate on three different forums limited to preachers only, and whether you believe it or not, saints don't get bashed.
I read many, many posts on those boards complimenting saints of God.
I do not see saints getting bashed by the ministry there.
If you have problems with a pastor and facts to assert it or disagree with his teachings then you have the right to bring that to question.
If you disagree with something on the UPC list of "rules and regs" then voice your opinion of such.
The problem I have is those who have had a problem in a UPC church or even more than one and want to get on here and label all UPC churches under the same circumstances. That is wrong. Period. Just as if I had a bad experience in an AG, PAJC, or (I don't even know all them others..lol) and then got on here and started threads like.....AGers are ************* (fill in the blank) That would be wrong. Truth is, as I have said on here many times, some of the worst things I have read on here about UPC churches I personally have not seen in churches I have attended or been a member of. I did attend one UPC church that I will admit had there nose a little high in the air, but that is their problem, not a UPC problem.
Bash the problem, don't generalize a whole organization in the bashing. You could be including and thus offending some sincere, God fearing, brothers and sisters who would normally treat you as family .

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
