The Borg is interdenominational. It consists of all who seek to intimidate hapless souls into brainless, thoughtless submission to a code of social conduct built to empower a few.

Questions posed to The Borg are met with frowns. Resistance is futile. Resistance, in fact, is rebellion. It's a "do as I say" scenario.

Differences are evil, sameness is extolled.

This is confusing. An explanation would be appreciated.

CC1 and I both inferred that you were discussing the UPC.

This makes it even more confusing.

Are we talking about a CHURCH????

So, what you are really talking about are control freak pastors, not necessarily the one organization.

A group of people with a sameness of ideology. People who threaten and intimidate the masses into submission. People who exert religious influence in an evil manner. The Borg is the cult of out-of-control kingdom builders.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

No, one does not need to be a pastor in order to be part of The Borg.

The Borg consists of religious tattle-tales, Christian conformists and I-put-my-dime-in-the-meter-and-bless-God-you-will-too-even-if-I-have-to-blackmail-you-in-order-to-gain-your-submission types.

I think I have been rather specific.

I have never focused on the "somebodys" as much as I have focused on the "something."
