There's always a question of how well you trust those who handle finances and have no accountability and do not have to explain where the money goes. That is one extreme. The other extreme is that everyone knows where every cent goes that comes in. How do we fulfill not muzzling the ox and still be good stewards of our money? Is there some middle ground or place of moderation? If we pay a salary to a senior pastor, associate pastor(s), music minister, youth pastor, secretary, janitor, etc of the church, do we who support the church have a right to know what those salaries are?

We show (in the annual report) what the total salaries are, but not broken down by staff member. That is personal business between the deacons and the pastor, in my opinion. By the way, no one on our staff is getting rich.

Re: Salary Transparency is Coming

I agree with Sherri we also had an annual report which did show the total of salaries and ours was to employ 2 people and so there was no doubt who was making what since I worked for nothing! The pastors salary however if we did have more employees would have been something personal between him and the board!

I work for nothing too. But that's by my own choice. They would gladly pay me, but I don't want to feel tied down to that office if I feel the urge to go somewhere!

Sherri, how do the deacons acheive such status? Are they appointed by the pastor?

I would love to see the demographics of pharmaceutical salespersons. I mostly see 20ish & 30ish pretty women with good figures dressed in high heels with skirts short enough to show pretty legs.

I am sure the rate of getting through to see Dr.'s and spend a little quality time with them is greater for these women than some guy or some overweight ugly woman.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Suggested by Eddie or the other deacons; ratified by the church.
