Thats it Bro. We minimize the sovereignty of God to do as he pleases. He has mercy on whom he will and on whom he will he hardeneth.

Re: Why Jacob,And Not Esau ?

Yeah, that's the thing. God does whatever He wants to. He can favor one twin over the other, for any reason He wants to, or for no reason at all, and we just accept it. He can kill millions of children, and we can't question it. God can do anything He wants!

Well, except for one thing. There is one thing you guys won't let Him do. You guys are always saying "God cannot lie". If He, since He is "sovereign", can kill, or command His followers to kill, or to take little girls captive, or make horrible laws like "if you child rebels, kill him", then why can't we also say that He could lie if He wanted to?

Someone on AFF has even said that God might not send a lost person to hell, that He is sovereign, He can do what He wants. But that same person says that he is absolutely sure that he will not go to hell. God's sovereignty can go only so far, apparently.

Well, He loved Esau a whole lot less, then!

And God knew (foreknew) that Jacob and Esau would behave in such a way. Based upon His foreknowledge, God loved and hated before the twins were even born.

There is absolutely NO unrighteousness nor partiality with God.

Based on the discussions I've had with diehard Calvinists, these scriptures are the only ones that they use to support predestination.

Re: Why Jacob,And Not Esau ?

I need to study this out but if I understand this correctly but I understand Edom was a descendant of Esau, see Malachi 1 is there is more to this than just on the surface stuff.
