Naw, THAT wasn't the spoiler. Although it was pretty obvious by two thirds of the way through.
The point is that tricksters still use very basic methods such as stooges in the audience. But we're just too sophisticated now to believe that things are still that basic.

Well, it was a spoiler!

Has anyone seen the movie The Prestige (staring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale)? They were both magicians and Bales character did an illusion called the Transported Man where he instantly "transported" 20-30 feet from one box to another. Most of the movie follows Jackmans fascination and obsession with the trick and its secret. Of course he told other characters that it could not be as simple as a "double" for this and that reason, so he ruined his life over it. At the very end, guess how it was done? A double. (Bales character had a twin.)
Good movie! I think that to say that all them are kooks is not fair because one can assume info was fed to them, but there is no way of knowing. I am sure there are many that are fed info, but I am sure there are some that aren't cause they have a real 'gift'. I think that doubting something is ok, but when you believe in a uncomprehendable God that can do anything is it too far fetched to believe in these types of things? What about aliens-not the ones from Mexico either? Anything is possible...God has things go on all the time and because our eyes don't see it or something that we have been programed with like doubt can keep still come out at times. Example: I don't have a problem with women cutting hair and wear jewelry and such-none at all. But when I see someone that does it and used to not be that way it shocks me and like my old self wants to judge them for it, but I don't-but it is a weird feeling.

True, but Hugh Jackman's character didn't have an 'illusion' it was that he was really moving to another place cause of the whole 'behind the scenes' thing (spoiler not added on purpose). But the point I am trying to make is that I believe it possible, but not sure that I would support going to them. But I think that not ALL of them are kookies.

I don't believe they are all kooks either -just most. When determining if a word of knowledge is legit I ask a few simple questions: Are the details specific, accurate, and NOT something that would be easily knowable through other sources?
On that last point, I do not believe God would give a minister who traveled to Minn, MN right after the bridge collapsed, the "knowledge" that a "great tragedy just took place here!", to which all the members would be expected to swoon over the mans close connection with God. It was common knowledge in EVERY paper on EVERY news channel and on EVERY radio station.
RW,perhaps you are right, but again one never knows. All I am really trying to say is that I think it is possible. I don't think that we are disagreeing really.

Yeah you are right....I have noticed this with prophetic ministries too-which is horrible
I remember a year or two ago when Steadfast started a thread as a testimony about a visiting evangelist. Apparently this guy was/is well known in UPC circles and does a lot of "word of knowledge" stuff. He singled out a family that had just been killed in the church a week or two back -which takes me back to the example of a guy saying that a "great tragedy just took place!" a week after the Minn bridge collapse. As an evangelist it would have been hard to NOT hear about such a tragic event happening at a church your about to visit!
I was the only one who dared question this guys motives (to which I was rapidly banned for a few days). In fact, Phil Jones said he wanted to take me out to the woodshed. (I should have said, but your not my type! -but I didn't.)

Actually, I almost choked on a jelly bean, but there's no smilie for that!
