Re: Thanksgiving Day 09 AFF Group Blog

Going to go to someone's house for dinner.

I don't really know them. They go to the same church I do. And apparently there will be a lot of people there I don't really know. "Oh, there'll only be 17 or 18 of us there...so just bring as many rolls as you think we should have for that many."

Only. Introvert me goes...ACK.

But it should be good. I get the whole day to prepare myself and get in the right frame of mind!

At my in-laws.

I see coconut cream and pecan pies.

Tomorrow, we're having turkey, my wife's home-made dressing and all the fixins.

Cornbread's out. LAST pie for the homeless shelter just went in the oven. Next year, I will not wait until the day before Thanksgiving to make pies. Good grief, I must be crazy.

Re: Thanksgiving Day 09 AFF Group Blog

About 30 people coming to our house. The turkey is in the fridge all prepared. Just gotta pop that bird in the oven at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Baked 4 pumpkin and 4 pecan pies and made puppy chow already. I'll make sweet potatoes, regular potatoes and homemade oatmeal dinner rolls tomorrow morning.

After we eat, we'll all load up and go to the bowling alley to work off some of that food so we can come back for round #2.

And as if that's not enough - I got a call today from my boss as the funeral home. He delivered photos at 6:00 tonight and I have to have a DVD finished by Saturday morning for someone. I'm almost done now. Just have to burn it to the DVD, then burn the Lightscribe on the top and make the cover for the case. That's not too bad. I'll finish in time. WHEW!

Small gathering tomorrow. 2 smoked turkeys, a ham, dressing, and pies all prepared. Only have to make mashed potatoes, and new potatoes tomorrow. Pea salad and cole slaw in the fridge. Oh and deviled eggs and fresh rolls will be made in the morning also. Our real Thanksgiving/Christmas with all the kids, grandkids, and other relatives on the 19th of next month.

We plan to eat out. I don't think we have ever done that before. Less stress around here - and that's all good.

We have reservations for 12:30 PM at http://www.countryclubhotel.com/lake...-mo-dining.php They are having a Thanksgiving buffet with live music.

Bro. Hoover,
Sounds like a wonderful day and I know your sweet wife appreciates your
kind consideration of her at this time. God bless your family on this special
Thanksgiving Day, in Jesus Name!
