Re: Modesty and The Christian Woman.
Modesty means exposing intimate parts of the body... or alluring parts of the body.
Means means self-control in my dress so that parts meant to keep secret are kept secret.
Does it? Where does this definition come from? I like AQP's questions a while ago about skin, covering the body up and scriptural support.
Re the situation about the young man that is struggling with pornography, that's a start toward a great way to teach it. Romans 14. Love over liberty. Something to think about for sure. The problem is, though, that a man struggling with pornography will not let a covered knee cap and midriff stop them from life-long bad habits. But if it helps...
Overall: I'm good with the teaching. I also like that this is from a woman (though the audience was mixed gender)
You should repent if you are using your dress to seduce away from sexual purity or their wives... That was said very well and goes to the heart issue.

The idea that we should be modest? How is that false?

I think those were just her personal opinions--I didn't see on the video where she tied those into scripture. I think it was Digging4Truth who said that a good rule of thumb is not to expose skin you would feel uncomfortable having touched. It's just an opinion about the practical application. Agree or disagree, they're just opinions.

Right, I agree with you--and the struggle with pornography shouldn't be displaced from the man onto the woman. God held Adam just as accountable as He did Eve, even though she gave him the fruit. Adam was to blame because he could have turned down what she was offering.

I agree with this, too. The speaker didn't directly connect the dots between showing upper legs, boobs, midriff with seduction, either. She just addressed the heart issue. Save sexy for your husband.

Re: Modesty and The Christian Woman.
Excellent teaching. Can't say that I disagree or can find much fault
with any of it. Loved the quote by CJ Mahaney. I might have to buy his book.

And doing a mighty darned fine job! Better than any overweight huffing and puffing and spitting preacher talking about "God's temple" and how it must be taken care of -before hitting the buffet line.

If she looked like a hooker to you, you have greater issues than we all thought.
Remind me to keep my grandma away from you.
