At 4 years old, he went from toddler to an adult (*snap*) just like that. Absolutely no reason for this; clearly, it's parental/family pressure at its finest...

I watched a clip of what is supposed to be on National Geo channel tonight and the other kid they are talking about is a 12 yr old that claims to have supernatural powers to heal people - WOW - I would NOT want my child put in the same category as someone like that - I am afraid this is going to make the family look really bad. I do believe God can use children, but this seems to me to be just "cute" and nothing else.

Things like this annoys me and we wonder why so many people will not take Christians seriously. The child was just parroting and mimicking what he has seen all his life. I question the intelligence of the adults who would want to parade a child around like that.

To me it embodies the performance nature of Pentecostalism. Many of these things called "moves of God" are nothing more than learned behaviors when the preacher says it a certain way, or the music plays a certain style or people get together the "have church". The Youtube video has adults cheering and shouting in a playful manner encouraging the little boy (then 21 months) going "ya-ya-ya-ya" in a micorphone saying absolutely nothing. You think a toddler isn't going to eat up a crowd cheering him and giving him affirmation for his performance? It does not encourage faith, trust or knowing Jesus. All it does is send the message to kids that performance equals a relationship with God. And for many that is all they have as they grow up: a series of emotional experiences from Sunday to Sunday, youth service to youth service, youth camp to youth camp, etc. All the while not being established in the Word, discipleship, true opportunities to serve, to experience missions and living out their faith. Its all about the church service and having a move of God.

Guess those people in MS will never learn when it comes to people wanting to film them for TV - first thing that came to my mind was when they filmed BORAT at the camp meeting. This child's grandfather is the UPCI MS District Superintendant

I couldn't watch more than a minute of that. I mean, the kid is cute and all, but what the adults (whom I am embarrassed for -maybe that is why I can't watch) are doing to him is terrible.
