I was taught Mathew 28:15-18 & that shouting it from the housetop for a saint--is not right, it will just cut any hope of reconciliation both for the saint & the Ministry.

If all of the steps were taken above and the still failed to repent then one would assume that the word would be put out that he was being "Shunned" for lack of a better word. How else would we "mark" one that causes division etc.

But... handling this with a pastor is a sticky spot these days because pastors are seen as a level higher than everyone else. So that puts it all in a little more confusing light. And... there is the very large point that there is a difference between marking one as one to avoid and rehashing and gossiping about the whole thing too.

I'll answer it. Of course any answer is pretty much just opinion but I'll answer.

It is likely that the list of affected parties would have included all of those church that Paul had started and had ministered to.

But... once the appropriate reaction was transmitted to everyone there would, indeed, come a point where information becomes gossip right?

I think that the Bible does deal with tale bearers and many other similar works of the flesh.

So... the question would then be.... is what is currently going on in this forum concerning this topic a simple passing on of pertinent information that is relevant to the affected parties or has this devolved to tale bearing or other similar work of the flesh?

I don't believe that these things should, necessarily, be kept in the local church body. If this brother is going to be released then those with whom he might seek ministry opportunity need to be aware as well. But there is a place it leaves good information and becomes a gossip fest.

Thanks it is good to see ypou nas well? Still living off the land? Is that going well? I envy you if you are & hope that all is well with you & your family.
Look, Pastors, Ministers, Leaders etc; are not above anyone else & yes, when they fall, the collateral damage can be catastrophic.
However, there is a Biblical way to address thse things & find, that all this does is stir the pot, spead disinformation, & more than likely burn the bridges for restoration to ever take place.
If someone is to be disfellowshipped, I am taking in Ministerial positions it is the place of the District Board & officials, & may even go as far as the GS to address that issue.
I ain't going to go there because I am not privy to the facts, nor should I be.
It is the responsability of that Church & the people involved to deal with it.

Actually, the Bible says to know them that Labour among you & My Pastor has always had Preachers that he knows or that come with good & positive references.
