Ain't that the truth? It's also a great place to spread the message "My pastor is a moron!"

Didn't say that. But, if one's pastor is a moron, well, better just to find a new church and (can't believe I'm going to say this) GET OVER IT!

Well, maybe you are so unfortunate; and I was for a very long time. Things are better for me now. I hope you can get that situation turned around as well.

Is that always the answer? Maybe that explains why we have these large "mobile congregations" in places where Pentecost has been established for a century. Are all the pastors "morons?"

How about some sort of mechanism whereby the saints who have invested their lives and finances, sometimes over the course of generations, can "get a new pastor" without having to throw their lives away?

In other words, why can't the "moron" be put out to pasture? Why is it that the saints are always the ones given walking papers?

Yeah, hadn't thought through all the ramifications before I posted!

I'm sure David wondered the same thing about King Saul.

I suggested that I could maybe start coming after worship service, that way I could be there for the preaching and the altar call. All he said was he thought I shouldn't keep coming. I told no one at church about this conversation. I simply did what Pastor said. This has left my spirit broken.
To this day I do not know why I was asked to leave.

Very good points.

Preachers have a little more freedom to discuss their problem saints than saints have to discuss their problem preachers, honestly. A preacher can talk to a preacher friend about a nutty saint, and they can commiserate with each other. But if your pastor is acting nutty your options are fairly limited, especially if you want to keep a good, respectful attitude.

I think hurts need to be addressed, not swept under the rug and ignored.

Having said that, I think most preachers are good, honest, God-loving, people-loving people.

A political kingship in the ancient world does not bear a one-to-one correlation to the administration of New Testament churches. In the New Testament elders were ordained to serve as the leadership of individual churches (Acts 11:30; Acts 14:23; Acts 20:17; Titus 1:5; James 5:14; 1 Peter 5:1).

The "kingship" of the pastor is not a Biblical office and is a contrivance invented by man. This un-Biblical procedure has led to much hurt and has hindered effective evangelism.
