Are you able to have a serious discussion about this without "joking"?

Hmmm, not sure how you got that I felt my pastor was a moron. I reckon you missed the sarcasm.

Can you imagine what would happen if pastors started threads on here about how many times they have been hurt by saints? The blood would be to the horses bridles.

Oh, I thought it was okay to repsond even if I wasn't involved. You know, like the folks who continually point out the flaws of the UPC, who are no longer UPC, but say they have a right to criticize because "they care?"

That's been my take on what she's said as I've read thru this thread anyway.

What I don't understand is - if we all agree that there really are some pastors out there who have no business pastoring a church then why is that when someone has an experience with one of these pastors and is hurt, we attack that person? Have they done something wrong by choosing to be in the church under the pastor who shouldn't be pastoring? Is it their fault that the guy is doing wrong??? Isn't that kind of like blaming the pastor when he has a saint who goes off in sin?
I agree, she did a great job of keeping her pastor's name out of it. (Of course, some folks here seem to know who she was speaking of anyway, if that matters.)

As to the last paragraph, I will continue to contend that the internet is not the greatest place int he wold for these types of discussions.

My experience has been that until I talk to Him about it, and let Him do the healing work, all of the talking to people will accomplish nothing and merely delays my getting the healing from Him that I need. When counseling folks that have been hurt and abused I ultimately tell them the same thing. They may feel a need to vent to other folks but until they vent to God the healing process will never totally occur.

It's kind of funny that it seems when you do vent to God and let Him do the healing you no longer desire to talk to people about the situation.

But that different. Pastors aren't supposed to have feelings. I've been on both ends of the spectrum and I have been hurt and I probably have done my share of hurting opthers.

Well, there are ususally more church members then pastors, so yes the number is greater.

Ditto. Been on both ends of the spectrum myself. The longer I live the more I realize I have less time to live today than I did yesterday. For that reason I do my very best to always be mindful of th manner and content of my communication with others.

Sorry, Bro. I thought I remembered you as being a pastor yourself, and thus the "moron" that my own sarcasm was attempting to tease.

And yes, you are correct. However many people simply have no place to go with their concerns. And the anonymity of the forum allows people to experiment with ways of opening up. It does also lend itself to abuse so of course your concerns are warranted as well. IMHO anyhoo.

Perhaps, you could read post # 240 page 24 on this thread.
