I still contend that the biggest single step taken toward The Mark were those nefarious talking Coke machines from the early 80's!
Oh man, I remember them well! They started appearing just as our church finished watching (for about the 10th time) A Thief in the Night and a Distant Thunder. It was the ultimate sign.
And don't even get me started on the giant mega computer being built in Europe which was nicknamed The Beast (about the same time as the talking Coke machines -coincidence?). Whew!

I think technology has passed the idea of implanted chips. I also think John was writing about the future, looking at a technologically advanced world thru his primitive eyes.
I believe the mark is coming. But I dont think we yet have a clue what it will be. And i believe that it will be so subtle that many will simply miss it.
hand and forehead is interesting. just hold your phone up to your ear and poof. That picture just almost fits a primitive man explaining something he sees about the technologically advanced future.
As I have already said, the CEO of one of the worlds most cutting edge companies has stated that he want to remove your keys and wallet and put all that into your phone. our company also envisions the day when work is done on tablets and not "clunky" computers with all the information stored in our "cloud".
We are also working on and selling home systems that marry traditional security with every aspect of your life. Open your doors from your home, control the AC/heat from your phone, turn on the stove/oven. control the TV. all of it from a divice you hold in your hand and take with you everywhere you go. a divice that you use to buy everything with. No cash. no need for credit cards. in fact, all you have to do is wave it in front of a scanner.
the divice recognizes you and no one else because of bio-feedback. and our company gets all the information.

and dont look now but google is closer to satan than just about anything.
Google knows every keystroke on every computer everywhere in the world.
Go look at AFFs front page. Look at the number of "guests".
some of those are actual people reading but not logging in. But a bunch of them are spiders crawling around the internet recording everything. watching....hanging out....
our lives are online now. more of what we do happens on the internet than anywhere else. social media pages caputer your life.
The government via Obamacare now has access to all of your medical records.
Thinking about all this stresses me out. And not because I am worried about the Mark of the Beast. It just seems very invasive and wrong.

Can you elaborate on this? I am not sure what you mean.
Before the computer age came everything was measured in analog terms and measurements, the computer was not able to do that, the computer world is digital, therefore everything was converted into digital terms, we have adjusted to the computer world.
