Well, I do live in the liberal land of TN where little is "enforced". But I really have not seen a lot of excessive "Lording" in the Southeastern USA.

I'm defining any preaching of standards as "lording"... so... there's tons of it everywhere lol....
The Bible says for Pastors to teach and lead by example, not make rules and punish people...
Note the shepherd connection...
Do shepherds beat thier flock into submission so the flock never leaves the pasture they are suppose to be in or do they gently keep them there and then go and retrieve any who don't listen and bring them back???

Bro. That is a bad example. If a sheep continually strayed, the shepherd would break it's leg to stop it.

That is a quite broad statement... I think all denoms have a "book of rules".

kinda... the rules in most denoms are doctrinal, though... like "this is how you baptize" "this is our stance on being born again", etc...
most orgs don't have rules like "you cannot wear pants", "you cannot own a tv", or "you cannot advertise on tv"
