I'm sure there are lots of folks who have old and broken gold jewelry who wouldn't bother to take it to a pawn shop of sorts but this would be a night out with friends and making money instead of spending it. As you said, one party that husbands would not object to!
I found this on MSN (about the 'gold party'). They had a video about it.

Re: How to Save Money

Hey, ILG - more money saving deals!

I've been wanting another set of stainless steel cookware because my husband and I eat differently. That means I basically need two of everything. I bought a stainless set last year and my older T-Fal (non-stick - yuck - never again - ) was wearing out sooooooo - I found a deal!

10-Pc Stainless Steel Cuisinart set with two trivets and a stainless tea kettle for $149 - regularly $249. No shipping if you put in SHOPJCP.

I'm excited to tell him tonight that I spent some more money!!!

If you don't hear from me again.......................

Re: How to Save Money

I'm done with the large clearance saling for the season. I will still probably find a few small deals but for the most part, I have the clothing for next year that we need. My cupboards are also fairly bursting with food and other stuff so I am going to break from so much shopping and use some of this stuff up and play catch up around home. I want to go through some closets etc and weed. Garage sale season is coming soon!!

ILG, It's a good thing you kept this thread alive! My business is in it's official slow time. Is there a loan application somewhere around here?

Have you considered expanding? Summer brings its own opportunities. Lemonade stand, tanning salons, bikini sales (and service!), the list goes on.
