Then, you did not read my second option above...
the reference to forgetting about our being led and taught of the Holy Ghost and deferring to all the egg-heads.... Remember? The second opt... oh, never mind....
Anyway, how dumb would it be to defer to those idiots? If education could spiritually enlighten, then what happened to the Jews. Why the veil? Could it have been their education that blinded THEM...not to mention many today?
Have I said anything yet? Let me know when I say something...

I wonder how much of your bible translations, pulpit commentaries, bible dictionaries, encyclopedias, general ideas, discoveries, language, the Bible itself that you own, etc you use daily that is credited to "eggheads."
Thank God for "eggheads" -- and thank God we aren't relying on the work of ignoramuses.

Re: Christian Perspectives Concerning the Law
Ever wonder why God had such contempt on the wise and the prudent of this world?
Ever wonder why they were regarded by the O.T. Prophets as Egyptians?

You aren't even using your Proverbs correctly.
Who were the "wise and prudent?" Am I going to hear another speech against Higher Education? Spare me. Even Pentecostalism has moved on without you.
The "wise" discussed by Paul in Corinth were not people who got an education and spent their lives studying things. That's missing the point -- and the mark! The negative use of the "wise" in scripture were always those who searched for answers for life outside of God. Ecclesiastes may be helpful to you.

I threw my "Pulpit Commentaries" away.
A friend of mine got upset with me and said that I should have given them to him instead. I said, "Nah, you just need the Holy Ghost...." Hahaha....actually, he has the Holy Ghost.
In reality, I've thrown away many books. A sister Martinez gave me the Barnes Notes. She was so proud of herself. I was greatly touched and grateful for her kindly affectionate deed. I have opened them ONCE since I've owned them...now for about ten years. They sit in the book case looking impressive and pretty but I can't ever throw them away just in case she comes into my office.
Rest assured, I will not give one minute of time to contemplate the writings of the Reformed. Nothing is more diabolical and deceiving. The devil knows just how to arrest the mind. Also, years ago, someone gave me the entire library of Watchman Nee. I've read maybe one or two of the many books that he wrote.
So let me answer the next question: I have abandoned almost all writings of Oneness Pentecost since so much of their own writings are entwined with so much of the learned ideas of the Reformed. I haven't bought any of their books in quite a number of years.
Everybody needs the Holy Ghost. When unencumbered by learned traditions, they will discover that He is more than an adequate teacher and will teach each according to their own stage of spiritual life...similar to progressive education beginning in the kindergarten to the highest level in this life. Want to become a spiritual Phd.? You can become one. I'm probably in about the first or second grade, so far. But, I'm progressing. I would have been far ahead of where I am now had I not let traditions of years gone by to have hindered me.

Re: Christian Perspectives Concerning the Law
Funny, Appy. You evidently have no idea how much knowledge you've picked up from "eggheads." Your pulpit commentaries and books are only the tip of the iceberg. We take for granted the things we understand today.
You threw away your Oneness brother's books? You are pretty arrogant aren't you. No one can share anything with you. All are tainted. But not you!
Oh yes, when I study, I just talk in tongues. I feel myself growing in knowledge about the Word immediately. Works everytime. I don't waste time exegeting or applying hermeneutics (gimmicky tools given to us by "eggheads").

Proverb? What are you talking about?
I only quoted a portion of what Jesus said:
Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
That's not a proverb. You should have instantly recognized it to be the words of Jesus when I used the words "wise and prudent of this world." This was coupled with the question as to why God had such contempt on the wise and prudent as to hide such riches of truth from them.
If you are going to read, you are going to have to follow me.

Wrong again.
So far you are batting zero.
You are not going to hear even one speech against higher education from me. I only wish that I had even higher learning in the natural than I have now.

Oh please...
Don't tell me about Ecclesiastes. It is probably the one book that I have come nearest to memorizing.
Spare me the condescending attitude seen in that remark.
To your point about the Pentecostalism having moved on without me is correct. Pentecostalism came to the head of the way a few years ago, they chose one way, I have chosen another. I will not go the way that they have chosen, even if I am left all alone. Yet, I am not alone.
But why are you so centered on me? Nothing concerning these topics are about me. So, it is futile and foolish to center in on me. Let us return to the discussion, the topic at hand.

It's all about me? I don't see it that way.

Arrogant? No not really. The people that I circulate among don't seem to hold me in such a disparaging light. If I saw myself like that, they would soon detect it. No, not arrogant at all. Since, it's all about me, let me say, I'm quite humble and sweet.

I never heard anyone say that before.

May I recommend the Holy Ghost? The Holy Ghost is not only salvation but the same Spirit is also a teacher. Try him out for yourself. I'm not speaking arrogantly, I'm speaking as humbly and sincerely. Here's a scripture that you can hang your purse upon:
1Jo 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:
That anointing spoken of here is the abiding Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Christ. He is the teacher. It is He that will lead you and guide you (not into all facts which are natural) into all Truth (which is spiritual, the person of Christ Jesus.)
but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth,
Amen. I just said that.
and is no lie,
God has placed in His church the office of teachers. However, one needs not to be deceived by them if they have that Divine Unction within and abiding with them. They know by that same Spirit if it is a lie. They quietly reject it within themselves.
and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Calling to mind the reciprocal indwelling of Christ...."if ye abide in me and my words abide in you...." Christ will, by His Word, teach, bringing to life the written word. The living Word will call to the written Word.
Maybe my ignorance is showing by so much speaking of these things. I might need to just shut up and not say anything else.

I don't do KJV on account of the fact that it's a foreign language, and my handling with it can be sloppy.
Here's the verse in the ESV (both translations given to us by "eggheads"):
At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father,(B) Lord of heaven and earth, that(C) you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and(D) revealed them to little children;
What do you think Jesus meant when he said this? To what was he referring?
If there was anyone in the time of Jesus known as the "learned," it was the religious elite. I like how Mt 11 ends (egghead version):
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
