Back in March of 2008, my company relocated us to Omaha, Nebraska. We purchased a new home, and with that new home, we got a brand new refrigerator.
Well, from the time it was installed, the water dispenser has not worked properly. The stream just dribbles out, and the ice maker doesn't get completely filled with water, so the ice cubes are very small. Well, because they are small, the dispensing screw in the icemaker can't grab them and dispense them into our glasses. So, we have been having to actually take the ice bin out and dump the ice into our glasses. It's one of those things that I think about at 8 pm when getting a glass of tea or water, and I think to myself, "I really need to call the repairman", but then the next day I forget, and the cycle has repeated over and over.
So, the other day, I had a brainstorm. I told my wife to buy a bag of ice and we would dump it into the ice bin to assist in the ice dispensation.
Well, she happened to mention this to our neighbor across the street (who's house was just finished a couple of months before ours), and he grinned and said, "Don't go buy ice - my ice maker in MY refrigerator won't shut off, so about 3 times a week, I have to dump ice into my yard!!!!!"
Well, what are the odds that of all the thousands of refrigerators sold across the country within this time frame, that one refrigerator who's ice maker UNDERPERFORMS and one who's icemaker OVERPERFORMS, two refrigerators, mind you, that may have been assembled in entirely different states, possibly even different countries, would be sold and delivered to the same street, to two houses that are approximately 60 yards away from each other?
By so doing, the needs of two families are met at the same time!
It had to be Divine Intervention!
And THAT, my friends, is why I believe in God!
