…for 2009! Sorry to disappoint; notwithstanding my ever increasing disconnection with the religious circle I was raised in, I haven’t been banned quite yet.
Looking back, this was a milestone year for my family. I am still “unchurched” in the sense that I don’t belong to any formal church assembly, which I defected from last summer. I stumbled upon AFF, and to my surprise, have been the beneficiary in more ways than I can count. I humbly apologize if I am unable to return the favor.
With that said, while many were still discussing the indeterminate meanings of doctrines prohibiting jewelry and make-up, I was quickly gearing up for more extreme pursuits. Allow me to reflect back on the evolution of noeticknight’s contributions in 2009. I danced briefly with Steve Epley before he departed. I proudly became the defender of nude art. I attempted to expand the definition of modesty to include swimming appropriately at the beach in proper swimwear, (and still aim to rescue some precious sister in the faith before she is carried out to sea in a skirt)! I quickly strapped on the gloves when some tried to tap out UFC. I was even bold enough to take a stand against WWJD!
I thought I might ruffle a few feathers when I turned my sights on the “Initial Evidence” doctrine, but as it turned out, I was the one found to be delusional for expecting at least one scripture explicitly teaching its existence. However, I did offer a toast to a few religious “conservatives,” and in spite of my college education, I neglected to credit the secular view of certain scientific theories regarding the Earth’s origin and the so-called biological mechanisms responsible for our being. Perhaps though, my most notable accomplishment here has been starting a thread simply quoting others. Judging from the response on that one, it may indicate a need for more humor on AFF, and less rehash of same ole’ same ole.’ So I must say, “Cheers AFF” for your patience with my ramblings and my drivel. May 2010 be a prosperous year for everyone here, no exceptions.
I guess AFF has become your "church" family? I can't imagine life without mine at Love & Truth Cordova!! Even tho there are disagreements (as in a natural family), we purpose to get through and love each other - and I wouldn't trade them for any other church family in the world! Blessings to all in 2010!

I've enjoyed everything you've posted...unless you ever disagreed with me! Merry Christmas to you and the best year ever in 2010!

Like you, AFF has been a great blessing to my experience of knowing God better. Sometimes, I've had such a hard time talking to other ministers about my deep questions. I try to coax them to open up, but haven't had much luck.
Here on AFF, I can express my deepest question and this has helped me beyond words as I have found others to be thinking or are troubled about the same things.
I've also thoroughly enjoyed your posts and your open ear to mine.
And I must share one more story which just happened a few hours ago. I thought I'd sneak one more junk food meal in before the new year is born. After ordering, the total rang up to $6.66! We looked at each other across the counter. The lady said, "May I suggest our new spicy chicken nuggets as well?" I quickly agreed, bringing the new total closer to $7.86 or something. It would have been crazy had it showed $7.77, but I guess no chicken is perfect.
So I guess the moral of the story happens to be what Chick-Fil-A has been saying all along..."Eat mor chikin!"
