Math Problem - Can You Solve It?

Got this in an email today:

There are three kinds of people in life. Those who are good at math, and
those who aren't.

Please look at the math below:

They say only people with an IQ 120 and over are able to figure this out.

If:
2 + 3 = 10
7 + 2 = 63
6 + 5 = 66
8 + 4 = 96

Then:
9 + 7 = ????

My answer is 144, but by now it will look like I read the other answers. I promise I did it myself and didn't read forward first!!

An Excel spreadsheet was attached to this email, and the password to open the spreadsheet was the answer to the math problem. Everybody who answered correctly added their name to the list.

Didn't cheat that was a rather simple logic problem it only took about 30 seconds to see the pattern, btw I am terrible at math.

Once you get passed some very basic algebra or geometry I am completely lost.

Lawyers don’t need advanced math just how to bill in 6 minute increments.
