After reading
this short AFF thread, and
this one too…. I have some questions.
Has anybody been to any recent TheCall rallies? I know there was one in Houston in January, and there is one coming up in Sacramento. I also know that there is a 40-day Daniel Fast happening right now for students on college campuses all over the nation (March 1 thru April 9).
I'm curious about what takes place at the conferences, and also about the theology behind Lou Engle, TheCall, the International House of Prayer (IHOP), etc. Although I was raised Oneness Pentecostal (UPC), I have very little knowledge of or experience with charismatic or "Third Wave" Pentecostalism.
Some people connect IHOP with the Latter Rain movement of the '50s, but IHOP has officially denied any previous ties with the LRM. Some of the IHOP doctrines I'm curious about are: (1) the manifest sons of God theology, (2) Joel's army, (3) the Tabernacle of David, etc. See this
