Hap Birth Bob

I have an older brother named Bobby whose birthday is the day before mine. His is the 22nd, mine the 23rd.

A few years ago, my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her I wanted a cake with my name on it. She looked surprized and said, "Why in the world do you want a cake with your name on it?" I said, "Well, when I was a kid, my birthday party was always left over cake and ice cream from my brothers birthday. Re-frozen ice cream and a half a cake. I wanted a cake - a whole cake- that said "Happy Birthday Ricky", not "Hap... Birth... Bob...". Well I got my cake - and ice cream to boot. Best birthday present ever!

Why am I writing this? Oh, I don't know, just remembering... and sharing with my friends.

Well, shoot!

I can't FedEx a cake - - it'd tear all up and the icing and "Happy Birthday Rick" would stick to the top.

BUT....if I could, I would!

You're a good friend, Renda, even if you did call me a Dork. I'll always remember one of my best Thansgiving Dinners ever. And Chocolate Gravy, too!

But, gotta be careful here. You know how rumors get started.

OneAccord, I read on another thread that you stood up your date! Was that date with Renda? Just wonderin'! You know how rumors get started!

Yeah, and he has the nerve to want a special cake.
