Pastors charged after telling 'gays' about [all biblically defined] sin
[Street preachers]Now facing bench trial in court run by lesbian
For a very long time Christians, living in a Christian country, were satisfied that our constitutional rights to freely speak our convictions, and to be afforded the liberty to exercise our religion in the public arena, was secure from force or the threat of force. Especially, from those who have sworn to ‘serve and to protect’ us, and to secure our rights as free citizens of this nation. However, as Obama has said, this nation is not a Christian nation. We now live in a police state where freedoms and rights have become conditional privileges, to be defended from the whims of those who are opposed to the founding principles (i.e. the spiritual, political, financial, and other rights and liberties guaranteed to the several states and individuals) of this nation.

I wonder what the charges are, really. I don't think there's a law against "spreading the biblical message about homosexuality – and other sins".
Oh, didn't see this before: "Technically, they were ticketed for having signs thicker than one-quarter inch (they say they were 3/16ths and that they'd been approved beforehand), and for having a sign not made out of wood (their shofar is a ram's horn style)."
So, if it's "trumped up" charges just to keep these folks from getting their message out, I'm with you guys. This is infringement of free speech. (Surprised? )
Anyone know what the penalty is for signs thicker than 1/4 in, or a sign not made of wood? (How absurd is that last one?! Sheesh!)

I think most laws are on the books just to give the police more power to arrest and pull people over at their discrection. For example, we have a law that its illegal for a a person under 18 to be driving after midnight. This gives the police the ability to pull over anyone who looks young if its after midnight (not that a reason is really needed, if they want to pull you over they will find a reason). But really a person that looks young can be suspected of a crime for no other reason than he/she looks young?
