pastor appreciation

Today was our pastor's birthday. So for his birthday and for pastor appreciation day, a lot of people gave money and bought him a motorcycle. He had one when he was younger and has wanted one for years.

These are some pictures. You can see our church auditorium. The pastor's wife is standing in the middle of the center section. You can also see our pastor and his new bike. They did it up right. Someone came riding down the aisle on it as a surprise.

I'm too far back to be seen.

Re: pastor appreciation

Do you think in ancient times they would have covered their idols in chrome if they had the opportunity to do so?

How nice! What a wonderful thing to give your pastor. Something that he has wanted for years but most likely would not have bought for himself!

As he started it for the first time, did the organist belt out Born to Be Wild?

That's very nice. I'm sure he likes his new toy.

Re: pastor appreciation

I really miss my motorcycle. I sold it about three years ago due to some health issues and try to avoid looking at pics of my beautiful candy apple red beauty.

I am sure that pastor is really enjoying this gift!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
