Met some "Message Believers" today
Traveling back from East Conference my wife and I met some followers of William Branham at a Restraunt. Had a very interesting discussion about the essential ity of Jesus name baptism, Holy Ghost infilling, and serpent seed doctrine. The man was a pastor and while we did not agree on the doctrine of initial evidence, he did say that he had spoken in tongues at times in private prayer. I have always wondered how many followers of William Branham actually do speak in tongues.
We both werecourteous but firm in our positions and affirmed our agreement and appreciation each other's stance on Jesus Name baptism and Holiness. I was clear at one point that I believed William Branham to have been in error and believed that one had not been truly born again unless they had spoken in tongues.
For my first encounter with Branham believers I was impressed with their sincerity and congeniality. I'm praying they come to truth and I have a feeling they are praying the same for me! Lol

If you think they were sincere and congenial you should meet some of the Mormons I have met!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

me too, but i note that nowhere in Scripture is God said to judge one's dogma, but rather their heart. Seems strange to me, too though.

Depends on their roots many come out of Pentecostal roots thus their feelings about tongues is favorable. However others who have not are antagonistic towards tongues or any demonstrative worship.
It is a marvel that here we are 50 years after his death and their movement is yet strong. Some of the latest defectors have really exposed so many of the so-called vindications of his ministry as frauds. Very interesting.

Re: Met some "Message Believers" today
I have heard of Branhamites who baptize in Branham's name. I thought all of them believed in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. I was not aware that some don't believe it that way. I know they are a strict group of people.
