Demanding An Apology....or else

I was reading Al Sharpton's demand that Isaiah Thomas apologize for his remarks concerning it being not as bad for black me to refer to black women in a derogatory manner (you can use your imagination)

IT says he isn't sorry and owes no apology.

I was thinking of how often we see this now...someone demanding someone else apologize or retract a statement. They use some sort of threat or coercion. But I was wondering...if the person caves and issues an apology or retraction, where they lying after the fact? I mean are they sorry they said it or are they just issuing the apology based on the threat? In that case can anyone in their right mind really be satisfied with the apology? Just because they force someone to apologize does not mean the person is sorry. Why do we or they NEED to hear those words?

Isn't it really just a matter of exerting control over that person and has nothing to do with a change of heart? There sure seems to be a lot of this going on.

What do you all think?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I think Al Sharpton asking anybody to apologize is laughable. Has the good Rev Al apologized for the Tawana Brawley fiasco where he helped her falsely accuse white police officiers of doing horrible things which was later proven to be a lie?

It is rather funny to see a guy whose speciality is pulling the "race card" now aiming his energy at a black brother.

Speaking of which did you see IT's defense that it is all right for a black man to call a woman a B**** and other words because of their culture where he would get mad if a white man did it. Good grief! Now crude language and cursing is being excused based on race.

And we start the training very young! I suppose all of us as toddlers have been sternly instructed to "say you're sorry!" Then we pout and use the least sincere voice we can get away with and say "I'm sorry." Not sure this teaches kids the right attitude.

No and don't hold your breathe.

It will NOT happen.

Al is a JOKE.

Anyone that takes him serious is goofy.
