If your going to carry a gun or have one to protect yourself you better ask one question. Do I have the guts to take a human life in the drop of a hat without hesitation?
If you don't or you can't answer that question, then you have no business with a gun because more than likely it could be taken away by the perpetrator and used on you or you and your family. Think About!
In a situation where a perp is actually in the house and I'm pointing a gun at him, I do not believe there would be ANY hesitation on my part. If he so much as twitched in my direction the clip would be emptied.

Agreed. Not much use having a gun in the house if you are not prepared to use it when needed.

My feelings are the moment someone breaks into my house, they forfeit all rights to their safety.

Of course, the best home defense and alarm system, IMO, is my dog. I have no issues sleeping at night, because she has proven that she will bark at anyone near "her" property. Her property includes a 500 ft radius around my house, lol.

Ya, our dogs are big wusses but the guy thinking about breaking in doesn't know that.

(The only thing Hermes, the border collie, will get violent over is when a cat enters the yard. He gets a very hearty "Good Boy!!!" when he goes after them.)

lol, I am not sure if she would actually attack, I think she might. However, I would rather her not because I do not want her injured or killed.

What I love about her is she will give me ample warning and notice to prepare myself.

We have a miniature poodle, a miniature yorkie and now we have yorkie poo puppy. LOL...

They wouldn't hurt anything. But they would sure bark like crazy if they heard anybody. I would assume that a bunch of yelping dogs is more attention than a burglar wants. While they offer no real protection the attention they bring is helpful I would think.

INDEED. Avoidance is always the optimal solution IMO.
