Are you suggesting another 400 years of silence from God while we await the second coming of Christ?

God does some his greatest and most awesome work in times of silence ...
See:
Creation of Man
400 years of Silence preparing the way for the Messiah
Calvary
The Lamb breaking the 7th seal in Revelation
Maybe if we would shut up and let God move in us .... we'd start being the Church.

Nope. We have His completed word. I was just stating that sometimes God doesn't send a warning or a prophet.

I am NOT espousing this as doctrine, it just came to my mind as I read your post.....
There was a period of silence before the first coming of Christ......
Elder Strange,
I am tired of the emotionalism that proclaims "WE HAD CHURCH TONIGHT!"
I have been in many services where God moved mightily and no one shouted, ran, or danced in the Spirit. But the altars were full of those crying and seeking God.
In talking with a sister this past week, she told of one church she had attended where people, especially young people, would shout so that people would STOP praying for them, dragging them to the altar, and shaking them mercilessly, pushing their heads back, screaming "let go" in one ear and "hang on" in the other. They shouted for self-preservation, not because they felt anything from God.
And competitive holiness marches on.....

Is that what she does? And if so how does she know everyone else does it? Does anyone remember how vicious rumors get started by just one person?
And they say Thad has a problem?
Thad talks about someone ordering a 400 dollar lobster and that's a bad thing but suggest a UPCI preacher has a demonic spirit and that's ok?!?!?!
I think we need to be more careful...how many times have one of you thought or hears someone else say about a singer that she was just singing for herself, not for God? Like we can read her heart. If we wanted to then we can say the same thing about anyone...someone that wins souls or preachers or is used of in the gifts or alter working

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Back up off'a here, bro.
Your defenses are up. Her son reported it as common knowledge among the youth.
I am not anti-UPC. I believe as an organization they have every right to establish rules of conduct for their membership.
Furthermore, I never mentioned UPC in my post.

First of all I don't have defenses up since I don't feel under attack. Second I've heard people report what is said to be "common knowledge" before and discovered it was just someones imagination. Maybe the youth are doing it, but you basically indicated the entire church does it and then added especially the youth.
Lastly, I never said you did mention the UPC....that last statement is just Strange :-)

Aint it the truth. I've seen so much of it too. A lot of it borders on Baal worship.
