I don't see it that way. Looks to me like science is simply trying to figure out how it happened, with no intention of proving anything wrong. I'm sure there are some militant atheists in the field, who
are actively trying to prove the Bible wrong, but my guess is that's a minority. Just a hunch, though. (I wonder if there are any surveys that might shed some light on this question.)
