I once had a Youth Conference At Randy Keyes church and he made me stand by the platform entrance and inspect every person who went on stage for anything gold.
I think a lot of these guys have left the UPC and formed that new organization...can't think of the name...but that's what I would mean by psycho conservative. To me, the South wasn't quite that bad, but I could be wrong.

But actually heard it more by its more accurate name which you referenced, "Pharisees & Sadducees Retreat."
These folks wouldn't attend many of the UPCI events because of "liberal" churches attending those events, think Ike Terry and his successor. Mulling's was considered liberal at the time by the PSR crowd and he (Mullings) would be conservative anyplace else in the country.
