"No longer affiliated" can mean the church itself has dropped its affiliation. If the pastor(s) still retain UPC credentials then the church will still appear in the church locator.

Right. There are many churches that aren't affiliated including the one I attend.

Not unusual.

No. For a church sign to say United Pentecostal on it the church itself should be affilaited, not just the pastor.
If a church is affiliated it is supposed to have United Pentecostal Church on the sign. The church can have another name also but UPC should be part of it.
I think the majority of churches are NOT affiliated so if the UPC church locater only showed those there would not be many to show. Instead it shows churches pastored by UPC licensed ministers.
No pastor in his right mind would want to be affiliated as it gives the district tremendous power over the local church. They force Home Missions churches that receive funds from the Mothership to be affiliated so they can force them to pay back any monies given to them if they ever decide to leave the UPC.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Lets make a list...
I think you are wrong in that first statement cc1.
I don't think the UPC signage implies affiliation.

1st statement is completely false. My church is UPCI, and we do not have United Pentecostal Church anywhere on our sign or on the building. My pastor is the Superintendent of our district. I can go on to name other churches that I know do not show the phrase 'United Pentecostal Church' on their sign.
2nd statement isn't completely true. The UPCI church locator shows all churches in the district(s) whether they are affiliated or not. I just asked my pastor, who is Superintendent, to confirm. He also said that all churches listed on our particular districts church locator list are affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International. So it's a double confirm...lol.
3rd statement is just absurd. I'm not sure where you get your information. None of it is true.

Re: Lets make a list...
I know of two churches in IL that pulled out for a more conservative direction.
The church in Princeton IL left, as did Fountain of Truth in Colona.
Both of these went to the WPF.
I also know of a number of churches in KS that left over the last 10-15 years, and as far as I am aware, they moved in a more conservative direction.

The STATEMENT is not false. It is just not enforced...like so many things in the UPC manual...like not having anything to do with organized sports.
