I agree with pretty much what you say. We, as the body of Christ, forget that he commanded us to love"
1. God with all our heart, mind and soul and
2. to love one another as ourselves
Itching ears..whew ... I see so much of that.
As for the Bible not being 100% correct...through the years my husband and I have studied from very old bibles where there are footnotes of what the reformists voiced their opinion. My husband has extensively studied the Strong's Concordance to look up the greek and hebrew. I would like to try to get an Aramaic concordance.
Some of the things I have concern about is that while the Catholic Church brought us the Bible, they could have left certain things out.
Take for instance, every pastor we asked this question to:
"What is the Nicholaitian doctrine"?
Each one told us that it was a "certain sect" of Christians.
That did not seem right to my husband so he prayed about it for a long time. We went to the Public Library to read all the different commentaries there.
One day, my husband felt impressed to divide the world and look it up in the Strong's.
Nikko=conquer
laitian=laity
In this context, I can see why Jesus would be upset at this doctrine.
Actually your question never entered my mind.
This is the place to be to get differing opinions.
Cool! Well, it's pretty often asked, when people find out about my, uh, status.

Most people have "great faith" except they don't realize it. Let me show you what I mean.
1. You become sick with a regular sickness (cold, flu, headache, chest congestion, muscle ache, etc)
2. You determine which medication applies to what you've got
3. You know the dosage and the time it takes for the medication to begin working
4. You take the medication
5. In the expected amount of time, the expected effects begin to happen
Great Faith. It really is that simple.
With this same type of understanding and expectation that we use day to day, the next time you take medication, simply say "Apply this to prayer", and do it.

Not sure what you mean in that last paragraph, but yes, I have faith in a lot of things and in a lot of people.

Based on your post that started this discussion thread, I wanted to encourage you, that, not only can you believe, but you already believe. The illustration with the medication was to demonstrate that we have great faith. Recognizing it in a different part of our lives (i.e. non-religious) might help us conquer any doubts we have in the spiritual part of our lives.
Or maybe I misunderstood the crux of the discussion.
Sorry , I couldn't help myself !!!!!! The option hadn't been picked and it just looked sooooo lonely sitting there with nobody choosing it !!

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
