Re: Just Some Things I've Been Holding In
Some really great thoughts here... and some hugely over inflated egos.
Let's see... in simplest terms WWJD? I somehow can not picture him coming upon a person with problems like Matt is describing and saying.... "Well, just hang on a minute... I wan't to be sure that we spend several pages of typeface talking about how right I am, how wrong someone else is, etc."
Is there some reason that people here can not just give their own opinion/advice and trust that it will stand on it's own merit?
And now I've wasted space in Matt's thread too...
Sorry Matt.
Love you.

Re: Just Some Things I've Been Holding In
Well....I'd say that Matt is not an idiot. He's full grown adult who can sift through all the advice and take what he feels will work best for him.
Matt has already written in some post on these forums that he shared with one person in his church about his medication and that trust was betrayed. And if all he hears is for him to just keep praying ...So I have to wonder about just how much Christian in Action is going on there?
He should not have to worry about what his fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord are thinking about him. He made a mistake, he came for restoration and they should be spiritual enough to plead to the Lord for his case.

Hey, he named his sin (kudos)
and maybe got some premises revealed.
How many idiots does it take to make a thread, I wonder.

We disagree, CC1. Plain and simple.

So based on your logic I can just ignore one or more of the 10 commandments if they are uncomfortable for me since Jesus ate on the Sabbath?
I would love to have you look me in the eye and tell me that Jesus violating the Sabbath means you don't need a pastor or teacher or church in your life as Ephesians chapter 4 says you do. I have a feeling you would have a hard time doing it and if you could then you owe an apology to any Pentecostals that you have ever said used logic that didn't make sense in their belief system.
I have lost all respect for you over this amazing justification for being out of church. You ought to at least have the honesty to just say you are ignoring Gods word in that regard.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Just Some Things I've Been Holding In
Casting Crowns - Jesus, Friend Of Sinners Lyrics
Jesus, friend of sinners
We have strayed so far away
We cut down people in Your name
But the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners
The truth’s become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You
But they’re tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up
I’m so double minded
A plank-eyed saint with dirty hands
And a heart divided
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world
At the end our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Break our hearts for what breaks Yours
Jesus, friend of sinners
The One whose writing in the sand
Made the righteous turn away
And the stones fall from their hands
Help us to remember
We are all the least of these
Let the memory of Your mercy
Bring Your people to their knees
Nobody knows what we’re for
Only what we’re against
When we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs
Crossed over the lines
And loved like You did
You love every lost cause
You reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame
They’re the reason that You came
Lord, I was that lost cause
And I was the outcast
But You died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet
‘Cause You are good
You are good
And Your love endures forever
And I was the lost cause
And I was the outcast
You died for sinners just like me
A grateful leper at Your feet
